PEDIATRIC DERMATOLOGY

Dr. Andleeb Usmani has described the practice of Pediatric Dermatology as her true passion. Acknowledging a “love for children,” Dr. Usmani delights in seeing the life-changing results quality dermatological medicine brings to the youngest of her patients. She counts this as one of the most gratifying aspects of her medical practice.

“There are many good doctors. Where I excel is in my ability to engage children on their level by solidifying a trust relationship. My team successfully performs sometimes difficult procedures in a manner that makes even the youngest children active participants in their care.”

Serving newborns, infants and teens, TruDerm Pediatric Dermatology is a medical home for children throughout all the monumental phases of their growth and maturity. Our goal: See every child comfortable in his or her own skin.

Your child is never too young to see a dermatologist for a skin cancer screening. Everyone, Regardless of age, everyone should be checked periodically, especially if there is a family history of dysplastic (atypical) moles, melanoma, or other skin cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma.

Skin cancer is often preventable with proper sun protection and treatable with good outcomes when diagnosed, detected, and treated at an early stage.

Tailored Treatment Plans

We develop a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs. We take a multidisciplinary approach to conditions that may have both dermatological and psychological components.

We offer a variety of minimally invasive treatments such as treating acne and performing biopsies or removing atypical moles. Treatments may include pulse dye laser therapy for vascular birthmarks such as port wine stains. We also treat conditions such as vitiligo, eczema, and psoriasis.

If your child has pigmented skin, hair, and nails that cause distinct dermatological concerns we can diagnose, treat and offer the best care products for your child’s skin type.
